Cultural

The Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center is one of the most prominent non-profit cultural institutions in Palestine. It was restored and transformed into a cultural center in 2000. The building features a renewed traditional Palestinian architectural style, with various spaces such as an attic, a garden, and a terrace used for artistic and community events. The center is named after the Jerusalemite intellectual and writer Khalil Sakakini, one of the leading figures of the Palestinian cultural renaissance. One of its rooms was dedicated as an office for the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish upon his return to the homeland, where he edited and published the literary journal Al-Karmel. The center organizes art exhibitions, film screenings, musical performances, and literary and intellectual seminars, serving as a platform for contemporary arts and creative cultural activities.
